A lost spark that eventually stunned its swag.

“Sometimes good things fall apart so that better things can fall together.”

A guitar exemplar was walking through the park one day to figure out whether he should pursue music in life as a career or not. While wandering he came across a famous guitarist in the world. Rubbing his eyes dubiously, he could scarcely believe his luck. Deep down he always wanted to perform for him but coming from a low middle class family he knew he won’t be able to meet him so he decided that he won’t miss this opportunity and will go ahead and ask if he could perform for him. Hysterically, he stopped the great teacher and asked in a skittish voice if he could play for him, thinking he would renounce his dream of a career in music, if the teacher told him he was frittering away his time.

To his awe-inspiring belief the teacher inaudibly nodded his head and asked him to begin. So he played, I heard it through the grapevine, and when he finished, he was indubitable that he’d given his prime performance. But the great connoisseur shook his head dolefully and said, “You lack the spark.”

The young guitarist was at a loss for words. Howbeit, he returned home and divulged his intention to abandon the guitar. Soon he decided to enter the world of business and within few years it turned out that he had such an amazing talent for it. As the time passed by, he found himself richer than he’d ever imagined.

“And suddenly you know.. It’s time to start something new and trust the magic of new beginnings.”

Almost a decade after he found himself walking through the same park but to his astonishment he spotted the great teacher once again. This time he rushed towards him and said. “I am so sorry to bother you , and I am sure you don’t remember me, but I stopped you at the same place some 10 years ago to play my guitar for you and today I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart. Because you told me, “I don’t have the spark”, I renounced my greatest love-The Guitar, aching it was but because of your advise I decided to enter the world of business and today I enjoy great success, which I all owe to you.

All these years he had one question in mind. How did the teacher know he lacked the fire. So this time he asked the teacher: How did you know I didn’t have what it takes?

The teacher again inaudibly nodded his head and said, “You will not understand. I tell everyone who plays for me that they lack the spark. If you had had the spark, you wouldn’t have listened to me and tried to work on it but you were made for something more beautiful and today you know what was your cup of tea.”

When one door of happiness closes another opens. But often we look so long at the closed door that we do not see the one that has been opened for us. Keep yourself in the place of guitarist, if you feel what you are going through is not working, try to switch it. A spark that has been lost will eventually stun its swag.

Thanks Kirti, it was a beautiful read ๐Ÿ™‚
